Big Star: Nothing Can Hurt Me – July 19 & 20 at the Grand Illusion Cinema!

Big Star: Nothing Can Hurt Me poster

The critically-acclaimed documentary Big Star: Nothing Can Hurt Me opens at Seattle’s Grand Illusion Cinema this weekend, and we’re honored to be taking part in the event. We’ll perform a set of Big Star songs immediately after the 8pm showings on Friday, July 19 and Saturday, July 20.

Our good friends Paul Hiraga (Downpilot) and Jeff Brown (Half Rushmore) will graciously lend their talents (on vocals and bass, respectively). Friday night’s set will focus on the darker, more atmospheric Third material, while Saturday’s set will feature a mix of the more up-tempo pop gems from the first two albums. We can’t promise that we’ll play your favorite, but we can promise it will be good!

Chris Burlingame from Another Rainy Saturday recently interviewed Lincoln about the upcoming performances and Big Star’s influence, which he calls “identity-defining.” Read the whole interview here.

Come celebrate the beautiful music of Big Star with us! The Grand Illusion is cozy (about 60 capacity), so advance tickets are recommended.

Hope to see you there!
