But that’s not all – we also have a couple of cool all-ages shows coming up over the next two weeks that we’d love to tell you about. First up is the Fin Records Showcase at Northwest Folklife, this Friday, May 24 at Seattle Center. Fin’s taking over the Fountain Lawn stage from 6-9pm, and we’re proud to be playing alongside labelmates Lures, Low Hums, and Davidson Hart Kingsbery. RJM headlines at 8:15pm.

The following weekend – Saturday, June 1 – we’re doing a very cool early afternoon show at the Fremont Abbey Arts Center. Billed as “fun for the whole family” (and why would they lie about a thing like that?), music starts at 12 noon and wraps by 2pm. Our friends Julia Massey & the Five-Finger Discount open the show. In the second installment of Fin Records‘ Live at Jupiter video series, our Johnny Sangster and Jeff Brown-supplemented lineup tackles a gem from side B of Someone Else’s Cake, with an added bonus: Messrs. Craig Flory and Tom Yoder on tenor saxophone and trombone, respectively! This is the only time “Novelty’s Gone” has been performed with horns (thus far), so we’re thrilled to have captured it on video for posterity.

Thanks so much to all of the folks who made it out to see our “Touched By an Angel” West Coast tour! It was a great success, and now we’re rested and ready to celebrate with our biggest hometown show of the spring – this Friday, May 3 at the beautiful Columbia City Theater.

We’ll be be joined by two of our favorite local bands: Smokey Brights and the Glass Notes. Red Jacket Mine plays the middle slot at 10pm. This show is likely to sell out, so get your tickets now!

We’re very excited to be a part of this year’s Treefort Music Fest in Boise, Idaho. We’ll perform on Thursday, March 21 at Pengilly’s Saloon (513 West Main St.), on a killer bill that includes local luminaries Thomas Paul Orchestra and New Transit, along with familiar faces Kris Doty and Nick Jaina, and fellow Seattle-ites Eternal Fair. Other artists performing at the festival include Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings, the Walkmen, Camper Van Beethoven, Pickwick, Foxygen, and many more.
